Mod Cloth but of course it's sold out! Did you know that Zooey is named after the J.D. Salinger novel, Franny and Zooey? I didn't realize this because she pronounces her name "zoe-y" and the novel is commonly pronounced "zoo-ey," because of the extra "o." According to Deschanel, in an interview with Scotsman.com, the correct pronunciation of her name should rhyme with "doughy". Yet, the correct pronunciation is only truly known by the author. "I don't really care what Salinger says about my name," she declared. "It's my name."
